Governance

"The Board of Trustees is a group of elected and unpaid individuals. They collectively are the legal representatives of the ISTA membership. They are responsible for advising and making policy decisions, for acting as ambassadors of the Association, and for actively assisting in the development of the Association."
As such the Board of Trustees provides sole governance for ISTA. There are currently six Board members. Three are teachers from member schools. Three are individual members, and practitioners/artists who have been involved with the organization in other capacities for many years. For current members please see our Who’s Who.
The Board members are dotted around the world – to give us true international representation! They work actively throughout the year by:
1. Attending the annual Board of Trustees meeting.
2. Responding bi-monthly to issues raised by the CEO via email reports.
3. Making policy decisions at all levels.
4. Working at ISTA events as a staff member.
5. Attending events as an ambassador/observer.
6. Contributing to our various Working Groups.
7. Supporting the work of the CEO and other Personnel.
8. Ensuring our philosophy and integrity remain intact.
Our Board members are open-minded, forward-thinking, experts and they ensure that ISTA is in the safest of hands in terms of current practice and future developments and initiatives.
