About ISTA

The International Schools Theatre Association (ISTA), founded in 1977, by teachers for teachers, is an organisation that today enjoys 125 school members. We run over 25 theatre events each year within the international community. There are enormous benefits to becoming involved with us!
An ISTA Festival (Primary, Middle or High School) can bring your school community together and allow them to see the creative abilities of a group of international students and artists working together for an intensive three-day period.
Our TAPS events are designed specifically for students and teachers of IB Theatre (Arts) and provide ...
... students with a seminal theatre and learning experience that will act as a launch pad for their own further explorations of theatre, within the context of the IB Theatre programme.
... teachers with accurate information, teaching strategies, resources and the support that will empower them to deliver the course with confidence and imagination.
Our Teacher Enrichment Workshops offer hands on professional development for drama specialists and regular classroom teachers. These are supported by our ongoing, extended Teacher Enrichment Programme that includes resources, publications, networking and exchanges. We have a full Consultancy Service that enables you to bring practitioners into your school to work with the full faculty, students or both.
Membership to ISTA gives schools/organisations the unique opportunity to become part of an international theatre education community, to attend events organised by the association and to access the resources and support network provided.
We welcome international schools as well as nationally based schools/organisations who value internationalism.
For further membership details and fees, please browse our website, or contact Bev Brian bevb@ista.co.uk.
