THEATRE:

All participants will attend two theatre performances.

The first is a culmination of a week-long arts festival, themed around community. During the week, the school will work with local community organisations – refugee centres, community care centres and day care institutions for students with additional needs. As a centre piece production, Curious Incident of The Dog in the Night Time is being staged to highlight the place and value of the many spectrum disorder children in the community. Staged by the KGV Drama Department and performed by students from the senior school, the intention is to highlight the role that people like the character Christopher play in enriching all our lives.

The second will be Odyssey from Theatre Ad Infinitum in the UK. One actor. One hour. One man’s epic quest to reunite with his family and seek his bloody revenge. Odyssey follows the Greek warrior Odysseus in his relentless attempt to get home so he can see his wife and son again before he dies. Passionate, highly physical and poignant storytelling brings this breathtaking adventure to life. A journey that will ignite the imagination and awaken the senses.

Winner of The Stage Award – Best Solo Performer

“This tour de force of physical theatre is unmissable… a stunning piece of physicalised storytelling.” – The Stage.
